Failure is always a good thing- Michael Jordan missed over 3,000 shots in his career. Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times. Throughout their careers, they failed again again and again, this is why they succeeded.
I have been getting a few emails with players asking for advice about how to best deal with failure. The truth is failure is an essential part of the game. The adjustment needs to be in how we respond to failure in baseball. The quicker we can condition ourselves to look at failure as purely a good thing, something that we need in order to be the baseball player we need to be and inspire to be, then the quicker we can get over our shortcomings and apply more of our energy towards achieving success.
If you never quit…..it’s impossible to fail.
