One of the things you should know about me is that I’m OBSESSED with teaching hitters how to master the art of hitting the ball the other way.
Why?
Because it refines their swing and allows them to adapt quickly to a higher level of pitching.
The principles that allow players to understand how to do so is simple enough but approach to apply those principles will differ from hitter to hitter in certain cases.
One great way however is to watch and understand how and why big leaguers are able to demonstrate those hitting principles on a daily basis while making it look relatively easy. Even though we all know it’s not.
In this “Swing analysis break down” video w/ Troy Tulowitzki, I’ll shed some light as to one thing I recommend that you observe in his approach at the plate that allows him to hit “pitcher’s pitches” like it was in a “hitter’s count”.
Tulo is one of the BEST players in baseball right now, so you would do well to take note on his rhyme and reason for playing the GREATEST game ever invented.
Enjoy enjoy!

What do you think of Troy Tulowitzki’s Swing?
It’s not everyday that you see a defensive short-stop who is able to do what Tulo does at the plate while playing solid defense. I can only think of a hand full of players. Derek Jeter, Barry Larkin, Cal Ripkin, Alex Rodrizuez*, Miguel Tejada, Nomar Garciaparra.
It’s fun watching players like this because they only come one or twice or in this case, five times in a generation. It’s truly rare.
Who were some defensive short-stops that could swing the stick, that you enjoyed watching play at the major league level? Share your thoughts below.
